In order to effectively measure and track a student's progress through the course of a program, Blue Bengal Learning Labs uses a recommended pretest, along with regular quizzes and a comprehensive final examination. Thousands of children have used the Blue Bengal program and shown real improvement, both in terms of test scores and overall subject matter comprehension.
An independent study by Dr. Diann Musial and Dr. Gayla Nieminen of Assessment Unlimited was conducted to measure the overall effectiveness of Blue Bengal Science Labs in the Physical Science category. The results showed the following:
- Number of students tested: 2,315
- Average pretest score (before Science Labs): 39.8%
- Average posttest score (after Science Labs): 77.7%
Blue Bengal Science Labs revealed a 95% average increase in student Physical Science comprehension!
